If your baggage weighs more than 23 kg, an additional fee of 40 DKK per extra kilo will be charged. This can be ordered through Customer Service or paid at the airport. The maximum weight allowed per single piece of baggage is 32 kg.
If you are traveling with a baby or small child, it is free to bring a stroller or pram. Please note that DAT only covers any damage to the stroller or pram, if it was in a so-called “airshell” during transportation

Delayed baggage
If your suitcase is delayed, the arrival airport will handle the search. The first thing you should do is inform our local partners at the arrival airport. The airport staff will help you fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). Baggage reports can only be created at the arrival airport.
If your baggage is delayed for more than 8 hours on your outbound journey, you may be reimbursed for essential items such as toiletries up to DKK 300. Please send your receipts afterwards to kundeservice@dat.dk. Unfortunately, no reimbursement can be made for delays on your return journey. Please note that DAT does not cover perishable goods, and important items should always be carried in your hand luggage.
Damaged luggage
If your checked baggage is damaged during the journey, you must fill out a Damage Report (DPR) at the airport where you arrived. This must be done no later than 7 days after arrival. Upon presentation of the original purchase receipt, DAT will apply a depreciation of 30% of the original purchase price for the first year and 10% for each following year. If no receipt can be provided, compensation is limited to DKK 500. Please complete the damaged baggage form found below under Baggage Insurance.
Baggage Insurance
For additional coverage, we recommend taking out travel insurance and reporting the incident there.
As an airline, our liability is limited according to international law. Please keep all original receipts and your original baggage report.

Special baggage
Need to bring your own golf set, surfboard, or skiing equipment on vacation? Golf bags, skiing equipment, and surfboards can be easily booked online during the ticket purchase process. However, other special luggage requires contacting DAT customer service to register and pay after booking your ticket.
DAT considers the following, among others, as special baggage:
Pram, stroller, and car seat (can be carried free of charge without prior booking)
Wheelchair, mobility scooter, and walker
Sports equipment such as bicycles, surfboards, windsurfing sails, diving gear, skis, golf equipment, etc.
Weapons. When transporting weapons, the bolt must be separated from the weapon itself and packed separately in the luggage. A maximum of 5 kg of ammunition in its original packaging may be carried. This must be declared at check-in.
All special baggage is sent on a standby basis. This means that regular checked baggage has first priority in the hold. Therefore, in rare cases, there may not be enough space for special baggage.
It is your own responsibility to ensure that special baggage is packed in such a way that it does not break. DAT would therefore like to point out that you are responsible for damage to fragile equipment sent as checked baggage.
If you wish to travel with special baggage, please contact DATs customer service for registration and payment once you have booked your ticket.
