Delays can result from various factors, such as weather conditions, technical issues, operational challenges, or restrictions imposed by air traffic control.<\/span><\/p><h4><span lang=\"en-GB\">Your Rights If Your Flight Is Delayed<\/span><\/h4><p>If your flight is delayed by 2 hours or more, you may be entitled to certain forms of assistance. This can happen due to various reasons, such as unforeseen technical issues, strikes, severe weather conditions, airspace restrictions, or other extraordinary circumstances.\u00a0<\/p><h4>Cancellation Due to Extraordinary Circumstances<\/h4><p>Extraordinary circumstances refer to events that could not have been avoided even with all reasonable measures taken. Examples include:<\/p><ul><li>Severe weather conditions or the impact of adverse weather on previous flights.<\/li><li>Urgent technical issues that directly affect flight safety.<\/li><li>Strikes or other labor disputes impacting operations.<\/li><li>Airspace restrictions imposed by Air Traffic Control (ATC).<\/li><li>Unforeseeable crew illnesses.<\/li><li>Security risks or unforeseen safety concerns.<\/li><li>Other extraordinary events, such as natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or political instability.<\/li><\/ul><p>If your flight is cancelled due to extraordinary circumstances, the airline is\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0required to provide monetary compensation. However, DAT will offer:<\/p><ol><li><strong>Re-routing<\/strong>: Travel on an alternative DAT flight to your final destination at no additional cost, subject to seat availability.<\/li><li><strong>Rebooking<\/strong>: An option to change your journey to a later departure, subject to available capacity.<\/li><li><strong>Refund<\/strong>: If the purpose of your trip is no longer valid, you are entitled to request a refund for the unused ticket, including any return journey.<\/li><\/ol><h4>Cancellation Due to Circumstances Within DAT\u2019s Control<\/h4><p>Cancellations that result from circumstances within the airline\u2019s control may include:<\/p><ul><li>Operational adjustments within the airline\u2019s control.<\/li><li>Predictable technical issues.<\/li><li>Staffing shortages that should have been reasonably anticipated.<\/li><\/ul><p>If your flight is cancelled for these reasons, you may be entitled to:<\/p><ol><li><strong>Re-routing or Refund<\/strong>:<ul><li>Travel on an alternative DAT flight to your final destination at no additional cost, subject to seat availability.<\/li><li>A full refund of the unused ticket and any return journey if you choose not to proceed with your travel plans.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Assistance<\/strong>:<ul><li>Meals and refreshments proportional to the waiting time.<\/li><li>Hotel accommodation and transportation to\/from the hotel if an overnight stay is necessary.<\/li><li>Two free telephone calls, emails, or faxes.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Compensation<\/strong>: You may be entitled to financial compensation as follows:<ul><li><strong>EUR 250<\/strong>\u00a0for flights up to 1,500
